Sorry for the abscence of the GBU…Crazy holiday season and I had a emergency at a rental home that I own that took a bit of time, frozen pipes and flooding….UGHHH!….It would have pretty much been an instant replay of the previous week anyway.
At least the Packers managed to beat the hapless Lions.
I’m glad the Packers won and was happy to be wrong about my prediction that they would lose. But given the play of the defense and special teams in the losing streak why was it far fetched? Also, as much as I like Brett I think that his latest must win game against Miami proved that it is time for him to retire (3 picks) and time for those lamenting his trade to let it go. I address these in my email. Have a Happy New Year.
Thanks again, Wes and Ross (and Eva!) , for a great show. No mean feat to explain the zone blocking scheme in audio! I always learn something from you guys, and from all the contributors to Packershow.
As ever, a pleasure to listen – Happy New Year to all!
BTW. Four questions for anyone. 1) Do you think that Packers will ever modify their uniforms? Maybe to add a couple of touches of black to the green to darken it and deepen the gold color. So, I won’t hear some folks describe it as “yellow” (Pittsburgh is Black and Yellow ). 2) When was the last time they did so? 3) Cheerleaders. Not that I am favor of them (I think they are totally unnecessary), but I do see some college types (or high school, [you tell me]) on the sideline. I know an endearing quality to GB is the small town appeal, but it looks rather “cheesy” (pun intended) to have a rah-rah booster group, so they may as well get some of those plastic-injected wicked city women like the Raiderettes or (ugh) cowgirl type cheerleaders. Either those or none at all. And 4) has anyone read the ESPN article online about Favre? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3804004&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines
I like the highschool cheerleaders, it’s different and neat besides if you can’t be cheesy in Green Bay, where can you? lol. I do agree about the uniforms though, I thnk they could sharpen them up just a tad, sort of a “moving forward into the future/These aren’t your grandaddies Packers”
kind of deal.
Whoo hoo! Packers win! All we have to do is replace Bob Sanders (and Mike Stock) and we’re set up for next year.

Well, Mike Stock has retired. One gone, one to go. Want to start a pool on the Sanders termination date? I doubt he’ll retire.
