Oops! I forgot that MM has actually interviewed Coach Haslett as well. Still 1 of the 3 available then.

Wonder who else might be on the radar?

Ouch! 2 interviews - 2 coaches wind up elsewhere.

Anyone else getting a sinking feeling here?

Alternatively, maybe Coach McCarthy knows what he's doing - it's just not that apparent to the rest of us.

With a good defense, New Orleans are going to be a heck of a team!

If they are looking to make headline they'll go with Garret, if they are looking to improve probably Spagnuolo. I don't think they want Haslett. He was a temporary solution.

Great letter, Zack. Should do the trick! :-)

Michael Lombardi on The National Football Post has this for us today:

" I hear that the Rams are down to only three candidates — Frazier, Garrett and Steve Spagnuolo of the Giants. Just those three have a chance to get the job."

Which of course (as one comment on the piece points out) would free up Jim Haslett for ...

Anyone know if Coach Haslett likes Bratwurst? ;-)

Dear Mr. Williams,

A good bratwurst beats a plate of gumbo, jumbolaya, or crawfish any day of the week, thus we believe you should take the coordinator position at Green Bay.

Sincerely,

Packershow Faithful

PS: We also have WAY more talent on that side of the ball, which could be a minor factor.

Let's all write a letter to Williams telling him that we've tried New Orleans food and it's actually not that good.

"I can’t decide if MM is doing his “due diligence” or if he is risking losing out. If Haslett stays in St Louis and Williams chooses another opportunity, then we are back to square one with a shrinking pool of candidates."

I was thinking the same thing. This kind of feels like the free agency period, when Thompson sits around and watches the impact guys get snapped up quickly, and then makes his "big splash" on a guy that no one else really covets. Now, maybe he can find an unknown gem and show us that he knows what he's doing. Plus, I think anyone would be an upgrade over Sanders, so he does have that going for him.

Ross/Wes/anyone that knows: Who ultimately decides on the new coordinator? I'm sure MM and TT discuss it together, but is it ultimately Thompson's call or McCarthy's?
