Great show guys. Just a couple things I’d comment on. I don’t see Capers coming on board as a demotion for McCarthy, but actually a part of growing into the job as head coach. There’s a guy in Chicago that knows defense inside and out, but will not delegate control of the offense to some highly capable but perhaps competitive personality. McCarthy saw that the defense needed some stellar control and somehow was able to land a former head coach that appears to be content to be coordinator.
Thanks a lot for the ‘technique’ breakdown and overview. I have to confess that I was totally clueless about that terminology before now and I’m glad to have it cleared up.
Gentlemen, greetings from the nation’s capital. I have already sent both of you a personal message on the facebook account and look forward to hearing from you. I just finished with the podcast and I have visions of a championship being hosted in the snow and mud of Green Bay this year. Being the old timer I am I don’t think of the 96 title game there, not even the ‘67 season, but 1965, playing the Cleveland Browns (I think I was 11 or 12 then). Big John Morgan, and any of you other packer fans if you want to look me up on Facebook please do so. Being isolated in the Washington DC outpost as the only Packer fan here, I think I experience the loneliness that a Roman legionary must have felt posted on Hadrian’s wall in England. I can always have more comrades (You will all have to abide my humor). May the Good Lord and the G-force be with us, always.
BTW, whatever came of that ridiculous proposal recognizing the Spittsburg Steelers for the 6 Super Bowl Championships?
No doubt it’s still in committee. Great post Mark, I’ll look you up on Facebook when I have the channce.
Oh, and I saw that championship game also. I was fourteen.
LOL Mark! Hadrian’s Wall must have been a dreadful posting for those used to Mediterranean climes! But a Summer holiday for many Packer fans?!
